hi,

pleas help, my c500 keeps freezing on the startup screen and has been like it all day. it happened last night and i left it on all day and the screen is still on, with the backlight. I don't kno what is wrong, so if any1 has any solutions for this problem pleas let me know. Btw the phone doesnt turn off when it is like this, i have to remove the battery. this also hasnt worked. im not sure if a hard reset would solve this but i dnot want to do this as i will lose all of my data and settings. there must be another solution.

please help me

i have had the phone for about 6-7 months now so stil under waranty, i have tried it without the storage card, i havnt replaced anything in it and have only dropped it a coupl of times but nothing major when it has been dropped.

note: my fone froze (which it does quite often) so i took the battery out and this is when the problem happened, when i turned the phone on again.

cheers 4 the reply

sorry pricey but the best thing to do in my eyes is a hard reset.

but wait for the other people on this forum to respond first so that you have a wide variety of ideas.

To hard reset the C500

1. Press and hold soft1 and soft2 keys.

2. Press and hold power button for around 1 to 1.5 seconds. Release power button. Keep hold soft1 and soft2 keys.

3. Later, screen shoould show instructions to ask user to press '0' key to reset to factory default.

4. Press '0' within the timeout period, which is only several seconds only.

5. If no instruction is shown on the screen, repeat steps 1 to 4.
