Guest bronksy Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 I'm trying the method of a 'hard reset then soft reset' to avoid the Orange .cab installation.. I'm wondering.. - How I get the video call screen back - How I add the MMS inbox. I have the settings but not the software. I assume I have to pull the .cab files from the extended ROM but which ones? Cheers
Guest bronksy Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 can no-one help? Anyone out there?
Guest chucky.egg Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 I dont have a Universal (Prophet here) but I can't even SEE the Extended_ROM, so I didn't think this trick still worked on WM5 Can you see the Ext_ROM on yours? If you can see the CABs then you could unpack them and see what's in them, but that may be a nightmare/impossible
Guest bronksy Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 yeah.. shame is that the unit is working really quite well as a plain unit with no Orange flavours.. but there is no 'Video Call' button on the dialler and also no MMS inbox, although there are settings for both.. I assume that these added features are part of the orange bits and bobs..
Guest chucky.egg Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 (edited) If you cant see the Ext_ROM try this: Ext ROM unlocker from Wizard Worked on my (unbranded) Prophet Edited January 31, 2006 by chucky.egg
Guest philtech44 Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 You need a ROM unlocking tool... search the forum!! Then, by using Total Commander you will see the unlocked ROM as a folder, etc etc - try searching the forum for more info / instructions... After successfully, unlocking the ROM & if you need the Video Call option reinstated you will need to run "Enable_VT_RTPlugin_0727_2_signed.CAB"
