Guest Smirf Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 Hi, Hope you guys can help m.e Recently got the MDA Vario. Generally very happy with it but looking for ways to make it easier to use with one hand. Biggest problem I have is trying to close programs or click ok without touching the very top right hand corner with finger or stylus. Is there any way to map the hardware button directly above this, currently shortcut to internet, which I don't use to perform the action of clicking these 'X's or 'Ok's? And also, any good screen protectors available in the UK which don't put a horrible pattern all over the screen like the ones that came with it? Very grateful for any help. Thanks
Guest TcT Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 Just go to "Settings" -> "Personal" -> "Buttons" and there you can configure the button to OK/Close. You could also assign the left upper button to start menu. And that makes a big difference in one handed operation of the device.

Thanks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I slide the screen open 1" and press the OK button on the keyboard, then snap it shut !
Guest chewbacca Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 yes would agree with you there, configure the left 'email' button to control start menu, and the right 'internet explorer' button to closedown/shut. makes things more phonelike but you lose the functionality of these 2 buttons, depends how important they are to you. the only thing to be careful of if you use the keyboard, the buttons do not transfer so you are 90 degrees out with the screen.

Guest Smirf Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Fantastic! Cheers for the help everyone. Should really have found that option myself but it does so much more than a regular phone! Got my screen protector on the way too.
Guest Wozbacca Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 my vario seems to have lost the "buttons" icon in settings > personal. anyone know how to get it back? what is the exe that the shortcut normally points to?
