Guest bjde0b Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 (edited) I know it is annoying everybody asking a ton of questions about decertifying phones on here when there is already a lot of information, but I used the information and still did not get it to work. I think it could possibly be because the certificate that I am using is a free one that I received from Thawte. Please refer to my post on the following. It is at the bottom of the page. http://www.modaco.com/Installing_certifica...231066-s15.html Thanks for the help. EDIT : post removed but link left for reference Edited January 30, 2006 by bjde0b
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 What you should have done is this : Well, I have spent about 12 hours today playing with my 2125 and I still could not get it unlocked. I would change the registry (all three) then I would run SDA appunlock and then i would go back in and change the registry again since it reverts after the appunlock then i reset my phone. Upon reboot I would install my .cer file by clicking on it or using the spreg program. Both pruduced the same results. I am still not able to change read only files. The only thing that I can see being the problem is that my cert file is one that I got from Thawte. Any Ideas? I am trying to change my softkey above the volume. This way you don't confuse members about where you want the reply :)
Guest Rhinestone Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 (edited) At the risk of starting another thread on this issue I thought I'd stick this in here and hope somebody sees it. Could someone please give me some advice. preferably a step by step guide to producing a root certificate. On the C500 it wasnt as tricky as this. I wouldnt exactly say im a "noob" but I have no experience in the production of certificates. I have been looking at various posts on the matter but a step by step guide would be most usefull . Maybe it could be pinned where it is easily accessible. Can anyone help me with this? Edited January 30, 2006 by Rhinestone
Guest bjde0b Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 I am really suprised that nobody else has had this problem. I do fine with computers and I am comfortable doing reg changes. I followed the instructions to a T and still nobody has said anything about it.
