Try a hard reset ( instructons should be in the relevant area ) and then try a software update - these are covered in detail in the mpx220 section. Richard
Guest monkeygadge Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Try taking the flash card out. Does it do the same thing?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Before the Hard Reset, go to the reast screen then select NO and see if it boots then. Sometimes the MPX200 gets confused and threatening it with a hard reset rather than actually doing the reset can sometimes do the trick :) As for flashing you do so at your own risk as there has never been any official updates\roms available for the MPX200 to download.

Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 My bad I read the post as MPX200  Do you have an official link to the update? as I know in the past Moto released one then withdrew it again.
Guest fluffcat1 Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Do you have an official link to the update? as I know in the past Moto released one then withdrew it again. All my official links are dead now :-( But other sources are available :) I have a copy of the online updater app, I'll see if this still connects ( when I remember which backup it's on!) but would we be OK in theory putting that for download? As technically it wouldn't be hosting the rom, just the app that gets a rom if needed....any pointers? Bet it doesn't still work though :-( Richard

Guest NeoGearX Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 I downloaded the mpx220 rom update and that was able to access the phone and do a final backup, after the update the phone turned on just fine and i didnt end up loosing any important data. Although, when i was trying to update the rom it didnt want to finish, it would get to 99% or 100% and then it just didnt do anything, eventually the update tool said something like 'the update process is taking longer then expected' and windows kept thinking that the phone was new hardware that needed to be installed (which isnt the case, its already been installed) so i left it at is 100% for like 1/2 hour and eventually hit cancel, but according to my phone the new rom is isntalled, hopefully its working ok, havent had any trouble yet.
Guest XiSt3nCe Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 I recommend just trying to flash it with a official update, if it still won't load, it could be paperweight time.
