Guest Tech Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 yes, C600 DOES NOT have wifi but you CAN purchase a mini-SD wifi card :) the imate SP5m and SP5 does have wifi built in :D
Guest rsearley Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 hi i am very aware that the c600 doesnt have wifi but was wondering if it would be possible to use a wifi sd card in the phone. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just make sure the mini-sd wifi card is small enough to fit in the back of the phone, as some cards i have seen are taller to allow for the antenna
Guest jporch316 Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Has anyone any experience of sd wifi cards - which are the best - which have problems good prices etc? Finally got my c600 - wifi could make all the difference
Guest madrascafe Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Try this..... On your Home Screen (with Wireless Home Screen Layout from settings-->HomeScreen), if you have bluetooth turned on you will an indication for the same. Now navigate to the blutooth on and click. You will see a menu with Bluetooth, Activesync & Profile. Now press 1 and you will notice that the phone is trying to enable or disable WiFi 'cause in the menu there is Blank, then 0 Activesync 2 Bluetooth 3 Profile... well where the heck is 1? Also when i did this i had an icon for Wifi On and Wifi Off but i was not able to set the wifi connections.... maybe a bug... now i dont see the icon... i will try to make it happen again and post some pics...
Guest fhyke Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 My friend who works from Microsoft claims the hardware is inside, although I have yet to confirm this... Has anyone tried loading an sp5x or 83x0 ROM on the 2125? Here's the latest version for the i-mate sp5: http://www.clubimate.com/support/SP5/ROM/i...E_1.5.333.0.exe If I remember correctly, someone looked at the FCC docs and verified there was in fact no wireless hardware inside.
Guest Ingvarr Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 (edited) I think they should make a big sticky in the top. THERE IS NO WI-FI HARDWARE INSIDE C600/2125 (HTC Faraday) SP5/QTEK 8310 FIRMWARE WILL WORK, EXCEPT FOR WIFI-RELATED PARTS Edited February 3, 2006 by Ingvarr

Guest hoyler30589 Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 thank you for your response, does anyone know if this one will work as it lists compatability with spv earlier models. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Spectec-802-11b-Mini-SD-WiFi-WLAN-Card-for-PDA_W0QQitemZ5859827909QQcategoryZ101281QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
