TomTom Nav 5.21 on Windows Mobile 5 - Not working

I was having difficulty installing TonTomNavigator 5 on my Audiovox/Sprint PPC 6700. When I finally got through to level 2 TomTom support they asked me to completely clean my storage card and reformat it, which I did knowing it would take a significant amount of time to rebuild the data.

At that point, TomTom Level 2 tech support asked me to assure them the card was reformatted, and when I said it was,...

The tech support person laughed at me, and said that TomTom DOES NOT support Navigator 5.21 on WM5 machines in the USA. He said I could write TomTom support in the UK, as they are trying this there, but it is definitely not supported. in the USA.

I quoted him from:

http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?Language=1&FID=3361

but he just laughed and said not all devices are supported, and even if they are on their list of supported devices, they would absolutely not guarantee that TTNav 5 (or 5.21) works with WM5.

I now have a copy of TomTom Navigator 5.21 and a GPS unit, and a subscription to additional maps and subscription to TomTom Traffic with no way to use it other than to purchase another phone.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

What exactly is the problem?

Will the app load, not load freeze or is ther a graphical error etc?

Now you have a formatted card, have you installed the software and the maps again?

Once they are installed all you should then need to do is turn on your GPS, start the TomTom application and the register your maps when insrtucted to do so.

If the device is on their list of supported devices and they wont supported it then you should get your money back - not sure how the law works in the US but you certainly could in the UK. Can't see it on the list of supported devices but i get the european list.

TomTom Navigator 5.21 certainly works on WM5 in the UK as Ash and others will attest too. If you detail your problems He (or someone else) will probably be able to help you get it working.

Good luck!

As far as I am aware the 6700 is not a supported device as TomTom do not support CDMA at this moment in time.

Everything should still work apart with the exception of Traffic and any Plus features that require the use of GPRS.
