Guest chucky.egg Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 I've got ActiveSync scheduled for every 5 mins, but it fails more often than it works. It is trying to sync, but because I don't have GPRS setup the only comms channel is WiFi, which doesn't wake up when the scheduled time comes around. I dont want to sync over GPRS anyway (I don't actually use GPRS anymore - Wifi for everything now). Is there anyway to get it to turn WiFi on to sync, without me having to press anything at the time, so that it can sync even when the device is "off"?

The GPRS counter edges up overnight when its checking for mail from exchange. The wireless network is well within range, and only sometimes is connected. The only way i found so far to rectify this was to disable all the wifi power settings, so it stayed connected constantly, obviously not something that we want to be doing. I also found that sometimes when the wireless was not connected and i wanted to fire up PIE it would instantly use the GPRS, and at other times it would wait for the wireless to connect before downloading data. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be? BTW using Imate SP5. Regards
