Guest roonster Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Bit of a whinge really but happy to receive any ideas / comments / tips etc.. I thought the Bluetooth stack / Bluetooth Manager in WM5 was suppose to be a vast improvement over its predecessor. I use Bluetooth extensively on my mobile but always thought my C500 lacked the reliability & smoothness of mobiles from other manufacturers. I read Bluetooth was improved in WM5 and now I own a C600 and I can't say it's much better. When trying to send files to/from my C600 I get the following results... other Mobile to C600 - works every time C600 to other mobile - works every time PC to other Mobile - Works every time PC to C600 & C500 works 60% of the time. Sometime phone fails to even recognise incoming file. other Mobiles - tried Nokia & Sony-Ericsson. Funny how sending files from a PC over Bluetooth is much more reliable when sending to a non-Windows phone. I don't believe it's the PC config as it works evertime to another mobile make. The PC was Windows XP SP2 and I've tried the default Bluetooth stack and Bluesoleil Bluetooth stack plus 2 different USB bluetooth radios with much the same results as above. Will all this improve with AKU2 (someone please tell me yes)? And Orange/HTC please please enable more Bluetooth profiles than the "sorry" 2 (DUN & OPP) you've enabled on the C600 when WM5 supports alot a hell of a lot more and my 2 year old Nokia supports 4. And why-o-why when I receive a recognised file format over Bluetooth can the C600 not give me the option to open the file directly in the registered app? Just like other mobile makes instead of just saving the file to "My Documents" and expecting the phone user to navigate and find the file themselves (chance for a 3rd party application maybe?) This is why Microsoft will struggle to be big in the mobile phone market. They give their end-users far too much credit as after saving most mobile users wouldn't have a clue where to look to find the file. Weirdly Activesync over Bluetooth works a treat and I rarely get any issues. So it's almost as if the "bespoke, only used in Windows Mobile" Microsoft Activesync service over Bluetooth is fine but the "globally accepted & supported" standards OBEX, OPP services are very flaky. Am I missing something here?
Guest tmohammad Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 My C600 is even worse, I can hardly use it at all for file transfers both to & from. Bluetooth is real crap! Surely others are having issues in this area??
Guest PedroKV Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 You can transfer files through bluetooth. First you have to go Settings/Connection/Beam and tick receiving. I don't know, what is there written in English, but in Czech language there are written "Receive all infrared transfers", no word about bluetooth... :-/ Thanks "xmike" user from ce4you.cz forum for solution.
