Guest stampy Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 I have a SPV C500 the backlight is constantly on (screen is constantly light up white when on stanby). When I switch the power off on the phone the backlight is still on!? Even when I remove the battery and replace it the screen lights up white straight away even when still powered off! Apart from the above problem my phone still works as it should but batteries only last a day due to the power used by the backlight being constantly on. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)
Guest rickt Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 I installed a few programs on mine the other day and the same thing happened . I went into settings an changed the backlight etc but still the same.I think it was because there was a program still running and I think it was Smurf. Close down all applications , I think there is a program out to do this. Anyway , mine is OK now . You may have something still running on your C500.

This is really doing my head in as the Batteries hardly last 24hrs due to the backlight running the batteries down.
Guest datasamm Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 Hard Reset it, see if that works?
Guest rickt Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 The only thing I can think of is ,if you have installed a program prior to the back light staying on . Uninstall the program .
Guest pjam001 Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 If your using an animated homescreen it can effect certain programmes and how they use the backlight. I found this to be the case with TomTom.
Guest stampy Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 I have now done a Hard reset on the phone but the backlight still continues to stay on!!!! Its really doin my head in. Can sombody please... help!!
Guest rickt Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 I'm not saying this is the answer , but maybe a ROM update might help . I did this on mine the day I bought it , and it works a treat. I just wonder if it could be a software glitch ! worth a try m8. I put the 4214 version and have had no problems . Check your ROM version on the phone first.
Guest stampy Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 I have still had no luck with my SPV C500 I have tried all of the above. Is their anyway I can re-install the software on the phone? Or does anyone else have any ideas. The Backlight continuosly stays on even when phone is off. :)
Guest Tech Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 backlight stays on when phone is off??? sounds like a hardware fault to me
