Enable the EDGE icon

Not that we have it where I live, but you can enable the different EDGE icon on Prophet by going to:

\HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL

and setting

EnableDifferGprsEdgeIcon to 1.

Picked that tip up from the Tornado forum :)

Worked for me too. At my home location I don't have EDGE, but I tested it at the Belgian border and got an 'E' icon in the display.

To make it easier to change the registry settings, I created a cab file (see attachment, phone needs to be unlocked). I wrote a little story about it at http://www.ruwebt.net/article/139/
