Guest mini_man Posted February 3, 2006 Report Posted February 3, 2006 Recently on MoDaCo a new piece of software has been in development. Ifor Evans' company, WpN, have developed a new news and images application. The software is called WpN Mobile and has a variety of news services which will suit everyone’s tastes. WpN is an international photo agency that represents over 500 photographers in 72 countries supplying most of the main stream media with their photography - directly to the photo desks of 1,000’s of publications and media outlets around the world. WpN will now be able to deliver them directly to your phone. The company updates its services twice a day allowing you to get the latest news with pictures and stories (unfortunately updates are not available on weekends during the Beta test). The WpN software is very simple and runs very smoothly on the device. I have had a sneak peek at this software and I have to say it is incredible! The creator assured me it ran well on non-QVGA phones, but because I have one myself I was dying to see if it worked... and it does! The software has a variety of services/features but as it is in its Beta stages only a few are online. Before you start you have to choose your connection. I perform my initial morning sync via Activesync pass-thru. Then you choose the features you want... On screen you will get a picture, and with a simple click to the left you can view the story that is linked to the picture. This service is very useful and is particularly useful for people who travel a lot and need to catch up with the latest news withought fussing over what news station will have it. I personally rate this beta 10/10 and can't wait to see what the next installment will hold!
