dial button (green one) doesn't bring up call log

Some time ago, I used to be able to press the green, dial button from the home screen to bring up my call log. Now it doesn't work! Very bizarre. I press the button and nothing happens.

Also, when I'm free dialing -- meaning, when i'm just punching in a phone number that isn't in my contacts -- I can't use the green button anymore. I have to go to "menu" -> "call".

I know my green button still works because I can still activate my speakerphone. But for whatever reason, it doesn't seem to work elsewhere.

Is there a software setting I can change?
