Spb Diary v1.7 and the Messages tab

This has now been resolved, and is not a fault with Spb Diary

I've been trying this out, and the new Messages tab in particular

I seem to have a repeatable issue with the "Synchronize Mail" function on the Message tab in Spb Diary

1) I have 4 accounts showing in the Messages tab: Chucky, Gmail, ActiveSync and SMS

2) I Sync'd mail through the option on the Messages tab (it downloaded email for my Chucky account, which is first in the list, but not the others)

3) I went into the Messaging app, and my Gmail account and re-read an already read email

4) I went back to the Today screen and the Messages tab

5) I Sync'd mail again and my Gmail account disappeared from the Today screen

I think it might be deleting the emails from the GMail account (the settings in Messaging say deleted manually)

Can anyone else test this (I suggest not on an account with emails you need!)

I've emailed Spb about it, I'll post back when I hear anything. It could well be me being dim - I've been at the Jack Daniels and it's quite late for me!

BTW:

If your mail account disappears from the Messages tab a soft reset always brings it back to that tab, and even without that it is still accessible through Messaging

The account does NOT get deleted!

Spb Diary does not show empty accounts. So, if while syncronization all the messages where deleted from Inbox folder, the account will be removed from Messages Tab. "Syncronize Mail" does exactly what the same function in standard Inbox application does. So, please make sure that the result of syncronizing account by means of Spb Diary is the same as syncronizing by standard Inbox application.

Sync'ing normally (ie: through the Messaging app) doesn't remove my emails, so it's obviously doing something different.

Do you have v1.7?

Is it doing this on your phone?

I've emailed Spb and am waiting for news from them, for now I've turned off the Messages tab, everything else seems to be working fine

So, have you got an answer from Spb support?

I have heard back from them, but I've also discovered that the GF was using the PC at the time I was testing - I suspect that the PC removed the emails whilst I was sync'ing and screwed up my tests!

I've Hard Reset and reinstalled and (with the PC not in use) I can no longer repeat the "problem"

User error!
