Right, just to clear it up. Even though the phone shows as if it is connected via CSD (Circuit Switched Data) it is infact connected via the GPRS network.

If you need proof of this simply turn your speakers up and send nothing (you'll hear no packets) and then start a download.

I'm now on the mobile email package. So I'm using this for a net connection. Sweeeet

The hostname is future-is.orange.co.uk

Owned :D

I'm connected via a Windows XP Professional PC right now using my phone, the only problem i had was typing the script correctly!!

Just a note to let people know that there is no username and password required!

Anyone enlighten me on what causes this error?

This is what i get when i install the USB Modem driver on Win XP Pro. :)

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

I get the yellow triangle, most annoying.

Can I use it as a USB "Dial up" modem rather than a USB GPRS modem ??

I get a hardware error when I do this thru USB... But dials ok thru irDA

Hi,

I have the same problem as The Futures Bright. When I install the Driver, the Device is stopped, because it has reported problems. The error code number is 43. I have installed the Orange OS 1.5.0.3. My Phone is the SPV E 100. I use WinXP.

I havent found a solution. The IRDA Connection works.

Looking for help!

Thx Lars

I am O2 and everything appears to be setup OK, get the arrows when it's connecting etc...

Even gets to the "Registering your computer on the network" diaglog,

then I get this error: Error 734: The PPP link Control Protocol was terminated.

Do you need to be on Orange to use it?

I don't have Orange, should i write "TeliaMobile Online" (that's my GPRS connection on my Qtek) instead of "orangeinternet" in the advanced section? But it doesn't work with that either :) , but worth a try.

Regards

/Daniel

You have to put the GPRS 'access point' of your service provider there. If you have used GPRS on your phone, it will be available in the Data connections settings screen on ur phone. (U'll probably even have to put in the user name and password depending on the service provider).

If you're on o2 pay as you go, you need to put this string in the modem initialization box

+cgdcont=1,"IP","payandgo.o2.co.uk","",0,0

then you need to create a dial up account as follows

Dial Up number = *99#

Username = payandgo

Password = password

then you need to go to internet explorer and select Internet options/Connections. select settings for the connection you just made and enter the following into the proxy box

193.113.200.195

you should have full net access. Free. Through your free wap service.

It's a bit slow but works well. Also it is not a full data connection. You can browse the web but nothing else. No messenger or suchlike. But still OWT for NOWT.

Hope this helps

Hi,

From using the methods on here I have connected my laptop to the internet via an orange spv e200.

The internet works fine but I cannot send emails from Outlook - do I need to change settings in there for this to work or am I doing something wrong?

Cheers in advance for any help!

Works a treat on XP pro using jtsaint's method :)

One Q tho, I get those two arrows, not the little G on my phone when connected. Does it use GPRS as deano_uk says, or is it GSM (martin)

Confused.... :-s

Guys,

I have been trying to sort this out and I just cant get it to work. I get this error message:

Error 692: There was a hardware failure in the modem (or other connecting device).

Does this mean the phone is buggered? I was under the impression that these were software modems in the phone not an actual hardware thing. Does anyone have any ideas?

TIA

Syphon

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

What you want to do is change your e-mail account settings.

In Outlook, click Tools

Click Accounts

Select your e-mail account and click properties

Goto connections

Change the connection to your SPV connection

That should do it! ;)

hhi can any one help me? i lost my spv cd, and i need the drivers off it. can any1 get back to me plz

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I brought my SPV "as seen" so all I got was a phone, USB cradle and charger.

I can use my phone for GPRS on IrDA fine but I want to use USB.

Could someone point me in the direction of a driver download.

I have an Orange SPV but have no idea of exact model number. ;)
