Guest RichardD Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 I have a friend who has one of the Orange smartphones (SPV something). Anyone know of software for a PC (Win XP I think) that he can use to send SMS ? So he can connect the phone to the PC via bluetooth and use the screen to type and send the messages rather than the phone keypad. Thanks in advance of any suggestions.
Guest mini_man Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 there are two options true connect : this allows you to move your mouse and keyboard to the phone which allows you to navigate with a mouse and type with a keyboard http://www.raspberrysoftware.com/trueconnect.htm Smartphone Studio : Synchronise and send text messages via the pc somewhere down the bottom i believe http://www.spapps.co.uk/software.aspx
Guest spacerace Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 There is also Jeyo Mobile Companion which I use. http://www.jeyo.com/ It communicates over AS so I guess if you got AS working via Bluetooth, then this would work ok.
Guest RichardD Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 (edited) thanks, I've forwarded the link to my friend. gave the "outlook extender" version they do a try myself but it kept crashing. :) Edited February 6, 2006 by RichardD
Guest spacerace Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 I never used that version. I found it more confusing to have SMS messages interspersed with email in my Inbox ! Also the Mobile Companion has other useful features like a summary of memory usage, call history and task manager.
Guest jack Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 You may want to use cerhost.exe as a server for PC and cerdisp.exe as a client for a Windows based Smartphone or Pocket Pc in this way you can send commands to the Smartphone from your Pc.
