Guest XNUK Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 Hi, Im trying to change the default input method that comes up to the phone pad. Ive found the reg string for defaultIM but dont know what i need to be changing it to. Can someone please help coz its drving me insain! Also whenever i try to change the input method by pressing the little triangle next to the keyboard icon at the bottom of the screen it takes around 5 seconds for the menu to pop up with the different input options. Is this normal? Anyone else get this problem?
Guest chucky.egg Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Wardy has posted this in the Prophet forum, I would think it should work on your Wizard: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SIP "DefaulfIM" Phone Pad -> {51A2CB38-154E-4C92-A625-A83871C99EC2} http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=...ndpost&p=712628
Guest XNUK Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 I did see that post but im guessing the registry strings arnt going to be identical across the 2 devices and I might end up with no input at all!
Guest XNUK Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 cummon guys this is really p***ing me off!
Guest DJ Big D Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 Download Tweaks2K2 Trial & alter the keyboard to 'Block Recogniser' Or 'Letter Recogniser' it is about as small as the transcriber & doesn't get annoying :) Also you can only use the Tweaks trial 3 times but do not fear the registry settings stay the same once uninstalled :) Hope this helps :D
Guest Phil Lee Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 You can also use SKTools to set the default IM as well as hide unwanted SIPs. As for the settings triangle taking ages to pop up, that happens on my Vario as well but only after I installed MS Voice Command. There's something in VC that interferes with the SIP settings. I confirmed this by uninstalling VC yesterday then reinstalling it.
Guest zero_divide_1 Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 Chucky.egg's post is right. Change the key to what he wrote exactly, close your registry editor, suspend the device (just press the power button), wait 10 seconds, then power it back on and soft-reset. After that you should have the phone pad as your default input profile. I had the hardest time getting this to work because every time I tried using the menu and selecting the phone pad it wouldn't load the phone pad and the default keyboard would always popping up. Its really hard to write a text message while your driving without the phone pad. It should work. Let us know if you have any more problems. I'll be more than happy to help, as well as many other people (I hope :) ).
Guest chucky.egg Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 ... Its really hard to write a text message while your driving without the phone pad... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Presumably you mean whilst being the passenger and not the driver?
Guest zombiefly Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 Its really hard to write a text message while your driving without the phone pad. please dont do that.
Guest cvdbl Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 Hi, I tried this method to have fitaly as a default SIP. When I dod this I systematically have the device getting stuck during boot time and have to hard reset. Any suggestions? C.
Guest hotphil Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 Mine takes a few seconds to pop up the different input options. It seems to reset to the defauly (even if another option is changed in the Input menu) after each reboot.
