Guest madderhatter Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 (edited) Hi there, I've had my M600 for a week or so, and having updated it to firmware 171 all appears to be well. Having just got my Globalsat BT 338 GPS, installed and working, when I attempt to install Tom Tom Navigator 5 the install program keeps crashing. I am able to start the installer, and get as far as selecting Tomtom and BlueTooth, but as soon as I click the final option to install I get an error dialog appearing. I've have tried both ActiveSync 4.0 and 4.1, and two different XP machines, another with Windows 2000 and Windows 2003. Everything else appears to work fine, including my Globalsat BT 338 GPS. Hope you can help. Edited February 6, 2006 by madderhatter
Guest JamieDow Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 I do recall a while ago when I had an eten from work it required a software patch from Tom Tom (this was back in the 3 days though). It may be worth enquiring with their support team to see if 5 also requires a patch. If I track any info down in the meantime i'll shout up :) That said, what does the error dialogue say?
Guest madderhatter Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Hi there. Thanks for the info. I've managed to download the update, and now have it installed. Still can't directly install voices or maps, as I still have a problem with the origainl installer. However I have managed to copy the GB database onto my local PC, and have copied it to the root of the SD card. When I run TomTom it seems to freeze. Any thoughts? I read somewhere about the possibility of the SD crard needing to be defragmented? As I'm fully able to run Pocket Streets without any problems, I'm not sure defragmenting will make any difference.
