My calender reminder does not show up

Just got a QTEK 8310. Now when I enter an appointment in the calender and a reminder time, it does not show up. I can see the app. in the home screen but thats is. On my C 550 it comes up and remind me....Am I missing a seeting here or...is it a sw bug...
