Guest Gazza316 Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 No need to panic i've sorted it.
Guest Disco Stu Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 So...uh...you worked out the registry thing then ! :D :)
Guest bleep Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 you need to follow the guides on here to be able to do the de-cert. this requires you to use a program to alter a couple of entries in the big bad registry. trust me its as simple as pie... just follow the guides on here or use the info below 1. follow this link for the registry editing program http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=Attach...e=post&id=17351 download it and store on your c600 2. Start Regedit.exe and change the following registry keys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies (then press "values")\ 00001001 = 2 -->Change the value data from 2 to 1 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\00001005 = 16 --> Change the value data from 16 to 40 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies\00001017 = 128 --> Change the value data from 128 to 144
Guest Gazza316 Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 Yeah i found a different thread on it and did the registry thingy, it wasn't as hard or as scary as i thought it was going to be. I only changed the first 2 parts (2 to 1 and 16 to 40) why do u need 2 do the 128 to 144 the other thread never mentioned it? Cheers
Guest Disco Stu Posted February 7, 2006 Report Posted February 7, 2006 I don't know myself but when I tried to install some unsigned games it wouldn't let me until I spotted that third value to change.
Guest smcqis Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 wot does de certing do? wot r benefits?
Guest Disco Stu Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 Lets you install software that is not signed with digital certificates. That will be most of the games etc that you want to install. :)
