I HATE OUTLOOK - Alternatives? like iCal

Well, maybe it's just because "every OS sucks" but I am really starting to hate MS's huge scale of things. I get my brand new Cingular 2125 (which is beautiful in every way, perfect) and I try to sync with activsync 4.1 and no dice, so after many POINTLESS error messages, i install outlook 2002 which was on the CD (why they are still shipping 2002, I have no idea, maybe because the newer versions suck so bad) and everything synced Ok. then, smartphone notes is giving errors and im tired of making new partnerships and stuff.

HOW CAN I just have my phone, sync to my PC with a program like iCal and Address Book and Notepad. I just use Contacts and Calendar, I can do without the notes. I am just tired of messing with my computer, and want a setup that just plain works everytime. Is a mac the answer, I dont think so, but maybe. I love my device and it suffers with a PC.

Could you tell a bit more about the errormessages? What exactly goes wrong with synchronizing appointments and what goes wrong with SmartphoneNotes?

and now with my Cingular 2125

and Activesync 4.1 with Outlook 2002 it says: Can't get interface to Notes

default folder: Error Code 0xf1720009. It just says attention required

Could you (re)register the Ole32.dll file on your computer? To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type the following command in the Open box, and then click OK:

Regsvr32.exe %Windir%\System32\Ole32.dll

2. In the RegSvr32 dialog box, click OK.

3. Reboot computer.

Please let me know if this solved your problem as it did solve several problems for me.
