Guest Pagemakers Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 This article says Orange are already using EDGE in the UK: http://msmobiles.com/news.php/4880.html Indicators on my phone change to E from G when in an EDGE signal and so far in the UK this has never happened. Are Orange using EDGE now or not?
Guest Jay3gsm Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 Yes they are. However by the end of 2006 there will only be around 1,500 EDGE enabled transmitters in the UK. Orange have around 15,000 transmitters, so the EDGE coverage will not be very extensive.
Guest Pagemakers Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 Any idea where in the world Orange EDGE currently works? It doesn't appear to work here in Manchester. Are the speeds 'noticeably' better?

I tried something but it didn't work..
Guest Kieron Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 I reckon they will probably role it out in London and all the main cities then go outwards, Just a guess but would make sense since cities are the main hub of business and thats how they brand their phones as "business devices" Kool Kieron
