Guest ain2001 Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 Help all, Need help big time... trying to use WMP and I am getting the following error message: "An unknown error 0X800300FD has occurred" - can any one help?? Orange's suggestion was that my SD Card is at fault (will test with new one when i get home) - but I don’t that can be the problem as I can play the tunes off the sdcard if i browse through the files using "Open File" and finding the file manually. Any help any one???? Does any one no of a more stable music player for the SPV?? Many thank Ain
Guest Geeklord Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 You got yourself a few factors here. First off, what phone are we talking about. Next, WMP tends to eat up alot of memory, so make sure your phone is not loaded with apps. You can check this with a task manager where you can view how much free space you have left. Or if you have apps running in the background, turn them off. I switched from WMP to TCPMP (The Core Pocket Media Player). It buffers less so it performs better than WMP which tends to hang quite often. TCPMP is free, just google it. (You may need to do a bit of tweaking depending on which file formats you want to play, but mp3 is readily accepted by TCPMP. Your SD card may also be at fault. Personally, I don't trust SD cards. I prefer MMC (lower technology, less problems) Cheers :)

Many thanks for your help, at least your gave suggestions compared to Orange!!! Kind regards Ain
