Guest toshi Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 Ok, so I've got an Imate SP5 because I couldn't wait for the QTEK v1240 to come out on Vodafone. Plus I've always liked Imates online support so was comfortable to purchase an imate. Yet despite it basically being the same phone, Vodafone have told me that I can't use the Vodafone Business Push email service on it because my SP5 doesn't come with the Vodafone ROM on it. Only the v1240 (vodafone branded version of the SP5) has the correct software on it...!! There must be some way to get the right ROM update on my SP5, so that I can use Vodafone push email?? Afterall, thats the main reason why I got this phone?! please anyone??? tosh
Guest toshi Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 ok, me again! just been chatting to imate live support (very helpful people!!). anyway they have told me that the new SP5 ROM which will support push email will be available within 2 to 3 weeks.
Guest chs_arg Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 When the qtek v1240 is expected to come out? Do you know if it will possible to buy it as pay as you go?

It's out now and unlikely to be PAYG anytime soon IMO, although there are connection settings in the rom for PAYG sims. Richard
Guest fluffcat1 Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 Richard, what is IMO IMO = In My Opinion....
Guest chs_arg Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 Anybody knows if the qtek v1240 is on sale in Greece?
Guest dougweller Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 Here is what Imate said in mid-October Dear All – Apologies for the delay in replying. A number of our customers are also awaiting the AKU2 update to the Window Mobile 5.0 devices, K-JAM, JASJAR and SP5/5m which are currently shipping with AKU1.X. AKU2 will be provided by i-mate from the clubimate web site where customers will be able to download and upgrade freely. For large corporate customers we will investigate how best to provide that update in the least painful way. AKU2 will provide Push email functionality, in conjunction with Exchange SP2, as well as other features such as data compression and some remote device management. We will provide a firm date for the release as soon as we can. Regards, i-Mates ‘Principle Device Manager I'd expect mid-March from what I've been told, but don't hold me to that! Doug
