Installing rar file

I have figured out just about everything else but i have no clue how to install a rar file. I know how to get it on the phone but it's not an app that my mpx220 can open or intall. help please.

a .rar file is like a .zip file but you have to unrar it using your computer first before you transfer it to your phone

i dont use the mpx220 but on my SPV c550 i have to do it this way

i use winrar on my computer then transfer to SPV
