sim unlock C550 probs

I am currently trying to sim-unlock my Orange SPV C550.

According to this page

it should work with a C550 as well as the C500

If anyone has tried the sim unlock tool 'SPV-Services Client' successfully, how long does it ususally take?

After successfully installing cert.cab to the phone and executing it (confirms installation successful), when I run SPV-Services.exe I just get an empty window, with an eggtimer and have so far left this for up to 30mins with no joy. :)

Checking task manager it is still running (as opposed to not responding) so i was just wondering how long it should take for the application to open fully so as i can then sim unlock the handset.

Any help would be much appreciated guys,

OKAY!!!

I didnt realise that when you run SPV services, it then connects to the internet.

As i have norton anti-virus, i tried disabling that and the unlock process then worked.

Anyone else having the same prob as me, try disabling your internet security/anti virus software.

after the various attempts to unlock spv's in the past, most of which never worked this method actually does, and was really easy once i got the application running.

hehehehe finaly u unlocked the application lock , it was an easy one dude just change the registry by using regedit :idea: :idea:

I have gotten as far as the app unlock using regedit but can't seem to get the SIM unlock to work on my spv c500

I get the error:

Unknown error -2147467259 in read operation

Please help me if you can.

I've got a RAR file with everything you need I believe to totally unlock your SPV C500 and C550. Including a small tutorial. Plz let me know if it succeeded. It worked on my own SPV C550 from Orange.......

I think to save your time is much better than save your money. It's now easy to unlock any device by code. You just need to Provide IMEI number, Orginal Country, Mobile device and device model. According to my experience, we should use paid subscriptions for getting the codes and save those codes
