Guest nickcornaglia Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 http://www.msmobilenews.com/page/1127/ Found this tweak on MSMobileNews for Wizards and tried it on my SP5m. I think it works. I think my phone is faster on my Home Network. Does anyone know this to be true? Am I really connecting via G or am I still on B? I cant even run the mobile speed test on DSLReports as it tells me to try a larger file to dowload as it's too fast to measure. For the Universal edit the registry as follows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>COMM>TIACXWLN1>PARMS: dot11SupportedRateMask=1 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>COMM>TIACXWLN1>PARMS: dot11SupportedRateMaskG=8 and for the Wizard: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>COMM>TNETWLN1>PARMS: dot11SupportedRateMask=1 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>COMM>TNETWLN1>PARMS: dot11SupportedRateMaskG=8 and there we go! You now have a 54g PocketPC!
Guest fluffcat1 Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Oh I hope it does. I'm ripping apart a vodafone v1240 later this weekend before it goes back next week so I'll note all the chips and try to identify them to something on t'interweb...the PSP has an 802.11g chip in it neutered down to 11b so maybe our phones do as well? Made the adjustments in the registry, rebooted, set my router to allow only 802.11G clients and the phone cannot connect. Set the router back to accept 802.11B clients aswell and connection is possible again.. I'm pretty sure the hardware simply does not support G... but it was worth a shot anyways :)

Was i suppose to change the registry name from first to second?
