wmp10 and m2000 problems

I had an m2000 on which I had windows media player, which worked fine. I don't know which version.

One of the buttons was faulty so I had the handset replaced.

Before replacement, I used xbackup to backup the device.

On replacement, I have now got an m2000 with wmp10, which works fine until I restore the backup to the device, after which, wmp10 freezes on loading. It displays an error message that it is searching for skins. It never gets passed t is error.

HELP!

cheers

Although backing up is extremely useful as long as you don't change roms, should you update the rom or get a new device with a different rom you'll be unable to restore. This is because the rom backup is specific to the rom version you had before.

Sorry to say but I'd recommend against restoring the backup and trying to start again with the new device. If it's any comfort the fact that your device now has WMP10 shows you've got one of the latest roms. That's a good thing! 8)

Many thanks Pondrew. I have finally reinstalled most software and data now.

Only one last problem.

I have tweaked a couple of registry entries, but can't remember which they all are.

Every thing is fine until I try to press the contacts, calander, messaging, or internet buttons on the device itself, when I get this error:

"Cannot find '01Button.exe' (of one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and all the required libraries are available."

Any ideas what I might have done?

Where in the registry would I find settings for these buttons?

Guess I should back up before any more tweaks!!

Registry tweaking can be risky business which is why I haven't experimented much. Sorry to say I don't know how to put right your problem... :)
