Guest Luego Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 My new SPV C600 seems to constantly freeze and/or run very slowly. I often use the task manager to stop active processes to speed it up, but that doesn't seem to help. Also it often doesn't respond to turning it off, when i hold the power button it wont turn off. Most of the time i have to remove the battery in order to get it to restart. Is there any settings people could recommend me changing? Any programs/updates i should try installing? Is this a common problem? I am sorry but i am very new to smartphones (only had this a week) and i am not sure what to do or what kind of information you guys would need in order to help me.
Guest w411y Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Um just try not to interfere when things are loading etc If its still not happy then I'd hard reset

I may try a hard reset to see if that wakes it up then. How would i go about that?
Guest w411y Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Doing a hard reset will clean everything so your phone will be back to factory settings... just like out the box. So all contacts (saved to phone) and pictues, programmes etc will be lost so save them to your PC first. Im not sure how to hard reset c600 but with a c550 you hold the two soft keys while turning the phone on and follow the on screen instructions.

All my important information is on my memory card (512mb) and my contacts are on my sim. So i shouldn't loose those. Will reply to let you know the outcome.
Guest Luego Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 Ok i performed the hard reset succesfully, and have ran a few programs, turned the phone on and off a few times. It all seems to work quickly now. Thanks for the help, its a great phone but just annoyed me with the constant freezing.

Guest jack Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 Glad thats sorted :) Your welcome <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've heard that some SPV C600 have problems with the memory.. I don't know if it's true but.. if so than no software update or hard reset will help you make the phone to work better.. you should ask for a phone replacement if you still have a waranty.

I also noticed that there was 5,000~kb of free memory when there were no programs running. Compaired to 27,000~kb normally. I shall get a replacement, i hope.
