Guest rent-a-nuke Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 Any new e-mail that arrives in your Exchange mailbox is pushed to your Windows Mobile 5-powered device (If you've got the Messaging and Security Feature Pack too). can somebody please explain to me what push to mail is? either pm me or just reply here. thanks in advance phil <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Guest stuuuu Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 Technically its not push, previous to AKU2.0 (WM5 ROM that lets you do "push") you would use Exchange Activesync which would poll the server at a given time and "pull" down the email appropriately. Alternatively you could have SMS alerting and it would tricker the device to go and get new email, this was semi-push I guess. What you have now is a constant HTTP/S connection to the server, a lot like OWA, and you get a perception that new email is "pushed" to the device, really is just polling behind the scenes on a constant connection.
