O2 GPRS WAP

I've setup my c500 to use O2's GPRS WAP.

I thought that GPRS was usage only.

I had a 2Mb bolt on with O2, and that was used up with approx 20 internet pages (BBC news and sport - no pictures), and every time I connect to download e-mails, I get usage of 3-4Kb (I know not a lot, but) even when no e-mails are found.

Is there something I'm not doing right which is costing Mb & money.
