problem syncing sp5 with exchange server

Hi all

I'm having a problem syncing my SP5 with exchange. I'm not using SSL for now just to make things a bit easier.

I setup the server address to http://servername.domain.com/exchange and add my user name and password and domain (which I've given permission to sync with active sync) but I just get a "The server could not be reached, please verify the server name" support code 0x80072EE7

If I put the same address in IE on my smartphone I get prompted for my username, psswd and domain too and they work there (even though I am brought to a page saying my device doesn't support frames, I am getting by the login screen!)

has anyone any suggestions, google aint to helpful with this error being related to exchange

Found the answer

should be connecting to

http://servername.domain.com

(ie leave out the /exchange from the server name)
