Using a C500 in Japan?

Hey people.

Would anyone be able to tell me if, after SIM unlocking my C500, I would be able to use it in Japan i.e. on a Japanese network with a Japanese SIM?

If it is possible, is there any specific type of unlock I should perform? Or would a standard SIM unlock suffice?
