HTC Apache "The CDMA Wizard"

I have a question that seem obvious but is not. I have the Verizon XV6700 (HTC Apache) and a cingular 2125 (HTC faraday).

On the Cingular 2125 I can press the power button and Turn off the device completely so that it is dead to the world unless I turn it back on.

How do I do that with the Verizon XV6700, pressing the power button only puts it in suspend mode, pressing and holding the power button turns off the backlight, but I want to totally power off the device so that it is dead until I turn it back on.

Thoughts?

On my MDA Vario if you press and hold the power button for 5 seconds it comes up with a message asking you to confirm that oyu want to shut the phone down. If you answer Yes, it shuts the phone off completely.
