Guest stormfuzz Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 HI I am trying to watch films on my Ipaq 1945, I am converting to WMV but only about 1 in 10 seem to work. I have downloaded the core media player but the PDA will not recognise the files. What am I doing wrong. What program should I be using to convert and to what type of file. Any help would be a great help. :| :| :| :| :| :|
Guest Disco Stu Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Welcome to the forum :) Most members here would use PocketDivXencoder, which is linked to on the TCPMP site.
Guest stormfuzz Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Thanks, found encoder which works fine, still having problems with core media player. Although it loads onto my pda it does not recognise it as a program, it does not recognise it at all. Does it matter which version I try, tried most of them with no joy.
Guest Disco Stu Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 tcpmp.setup.[version].exe - Desktop installer for PocketPC or HPC devices. It should be launched on the PC when the PDA is connected via ActiveSync. Although I have no experience of iPaqs I would assume that is the correct one. You did run the installer on the PC ? Does the shortcut appear in the Programs menu ? What do you mean by "does not recognise it as a program" exactly ?
Guest stormfuzz Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 (edited) I loaded from the PC and activesync loaded it no problem. It made a file in the program files Called TCPMP. You can open this file no problem. You then have 4 files (differnt version that I tried), when you try and open it it says 'there is no application associated with "ac3".Run the application first then open this file from within the application.' I have tried ac3 ffmpeg speex vorbislq Any help would be appreciated. Edited February 17, 2006 by stormfuzz
Guest Disco Stu Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 All you need to do is run tcpmp.setup.0.71.exe on your PC when the Ipaq is connected via ActiveSync. Select install to storage card when prompted. You will then have a shortcut in your Programs menu which launches the software. That's all there is to it :)
Guest stormfuzz Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 Sorted it, thanks for your help. Must have been using the version.
