C500 travels in time

I've had my C500 for over a year now, (which means orange insurance has run out) and i've noticed that at random times the phone seems to revert to the date 01/10/2004 and some time around 12:00 (lunch time)

Has anyone else got any experience of this?

Any clues how to cure the issue?

Sounds like it is crashing - normally happens when it locks up and you yank the battery out. But maybe it is soft resetting and rebooting on you? The date is the date of the ROM that is installed on your phone. You could try hard resetting the phone (clear storage) to remove whatever the problem is but this will remove all data, software, contacts and settings on your phone.
