C600 nicked offered Jam as Replacement

Hi all

Some thievin' little Bstd broke in to house :evil: and nicked my c600. My insurance company has advised that it cant replace with new c600 (why I dont know!) they are offering me an imate jam or if I insist on C600 they will give me the cash equivalent.

Is the Jam as good?

Does it have Windows Mobile 2005?

Does it have as good a screen resolution as the C600?

Are there any other questions I should be asking them?

Jam doesn't have windows mobile 5.0 :)

The screen is bigger but I'm pretty sure the resoloution isn't as good. Will be quite a change to go from a smartphone to a pocket pc, despite the similar OS (no keypad for starters). I really miss my c500 since i changed

This seems a bit negative, I don't mean to be. I have a Jam and it's great. Is the most popular ppc out there for a reason

See if you can get an M600 if pocket pc is the way you want to go.

Cus the Jam is old hat.

Sure Wifi isn't that big a deal, but the SP5 is a good phone.

The M500 is the Orange branded version of the imate Jam (no WM2005, PPC, QVGA - i.e. same resolution as C600).

The M600 isn't out yet (see the MoDaCo front page) - it's the "sequel" to the M500.

A PPC phone is quite different to the C600 (it has a touchscreen, for a start). You may want to pop in to an Orange shop and try out an M500 to see if you like it.

It may be that your insurance company cannot find an offline price for a c600 as I've never seen one for sale as free stock or PAYG, only with contracts, hence the quote for the Jam which is available sim free from many outlets. I'd ask for an imate sp5 or sp5m myself.
