c500 clock/date resets when turned off/on HELP!

Hi there

I'm sure someone will be able to help me with this out there.

Whenever I turn my SPV c500 off and back on, the date and time reset themselves to the defunct time/date (01.10.2004 12pm)

I also seem to be having trouble getting my phone to actually turn off, it looks like its booting down, but just stays on the river/sky orange logo background image. I then have to pull my battery out to get it to do anything again (then the time/date go back to 01.10.2004 12pm again).

Can anyone help?

Is there/has the internal battery gone in it?

Do you think I should send it back to orange and get them to send me a new one?

I've had it about 11 months and I have insurance

Does sound like the internal battery has died. My C500 is exactly the same, but a quick connection to Activsync sorts the time and date out for me.

I had this problem with my old SPV [canary] ,I hadn't realised about the internal battery though . I got rid of the problem by buying a new phone [C500] from a guy on *-bay .Great phone and it keeps the time :-)

As I said it's the internal battery, you could try for a replacement but normally batteries are classed as consumables and so not covered by warranties.

Just describe the problem to them and see what they say.
