Guest exosceleton Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 i have been unable to find any way to extract / export my sms text messages to a pc. There are some forum topics floating around suggesting software, but no software is able to show me my text messages, let alone export them. Where are the text messages stored on a orange M500 windows mobile 2003 SE? and is there any way to get them on my pc? or even on my sd card? thanks
Guest Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 There are two ways of doing it. The first is to copy all the .MPB files from the \Windows\Messaging folder over to your PC. You can rename them to .TXT files and read them. Not the best way to do it but it works! The other way I know of was from my Smartphone days - so not sure if it will work with Pocket PC. Jeyo Mobile Companion is a plugin for MS Outlook and imports all SMS messages each time you Sync with Activesync into "SMS Folders". This is the best way - only downsides are it's not free and you'd have to try it yourself to see if it works with Pocket PC.
Guest chucky.egg Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 Jeyo does work with PPC and is great
Guest exosceleton Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 thanks everton & chucky. Just got rid of outlook by using essential pim, but i might give Jeyo a try. But even the txt will probably be enough.
