SPV E200 Installation Problems

I'm having trouble installing .exe files on my E200. Every time I try to install using Smart Explorer I get the message

'Unable to open the file. The system returned the error 'Access denied'!'

When I try to make a shortcut in accessories and open it I get the message

'"FILENAME" is not a valid Windows CE application'

I am a noob but I know the apps are for my phone. Is there anything I could do to get the files to install.

BTW I have removed application signing.

At a guess I would say the problem was trying to install the PC installer on the phone instead of the PC.

It's all in the fun of learning about the Smartphone :)
