Where's Active Sync gone?

I've had to re-configure my M500 and carried out the extended rom tweak. All was going well but when I came to sync, active syn is missing from the start menu. After a bit of playing round I found it in /windows and created a shortcut to it.

I tried again and it vanishes when i install OrangeUK_ActionE_Connection.CAB

Any suggestions why this is so.

Am I right in saying that this is just the backup program and therefore I could do without it?
