What is up with my stupid camera on my M500

it is so touchy on if it wants to take good photos or not!!

Some times the images are fine, others they seem crap when I hold up the phone ready to take a picture, hard to explain, I guess its kinda like when you TV is slightly off channel and is ''snow stormy'' if you know what I mean?

This is very infuriating as it always seems to happen when im trying to take a picture I really wanna take lol

Dont get me wrong I know its no digital camera, if im going somewhere special I will take that with me but if for example im out with friends and we decide to get a quick group photo when were bladdered, its oK for stuff like that lol. most infuriating was when I went round to see my 1 day old nephew and wanted to take some pics, I started with my digital camera, but the flash was to bright for the poor little guy and he kept pulling funny faces (lol) so I tried to get a few snaps on my phone (to show friends) and it was all snowy again so no point taking them.

Anyone know why it is doing this, or what I can do to fix it?

Cheers

It's not a fix as such but yes I get this occasionally, I change it from automatic to say day and it improves a fair bit.

Yeh already tried that love to no joy

Maybe its just a crap camera, the one on the D500 was 1.3mp the same and it was way better

Phone cameras can tend to be really poor, and most dont operate well indoor or in poor light or.... in pretty much anything but decent sunlight. :)

The best bet is to do what everyone else has said, try selecting the night option and increase the ambient light (if indoor) as much as possible and see if that helps.

While I completely agree that the camera on the M500 is nowhere near as good as the D500, I can help with the snow effect - thanks to another Forum that we can't link to from here!

You can manually change the brightness and so on to correct it, but each time you reset the problem will come back. Run this CAB on your phone, and the problem should disappear for good. I've been using it for about 4 months and it's worked without problems for me.

Better, but the camera's still far from good!

Thanks Stu I will give that a go and see how it works!

It does seem a little better at the moment - but I think thats just cause its a little tempremental!!

For example 2 pics below on the same night, with in a few minutes of each other, same lightness etc and look at the difference
