I'm opening this topic to keep track of known bugs in the i-mate Sp5/SP5m and the qtek 8300/8310, and to make wishes for the next rom release :)

Known bugs:

1) bluetooth bugs

2) stability when stressed

3) need to terminate WMP if I want to delete a file i've just played (access denied)

-

Wishlist:

1) longer timeout for keyboard backlighting

2) bluetooth updates including A2DP profiles, direct push services (also known as AKU 2.0)

3) JSR 184 support in tao's jvm (tao website says it's an optional)

Anyway I'm a bit on the unimpressed side regarding the processing power and the stability...

WMP disappointed me a bit... I'm connected to internet thru activesync and I wanted to listen to a streaming preview of a song (on www.juno.co.uk), so I type the address but WMP says that the type is unsupported ...... what????? It's a common MP3 file, why it doesn't work as in my desktop pc?

Speaking of stability, I was browsing the low graphics version of the same site in PIE when i received a call....

First of all the ringtone was stuttering ..... I wasn't running Seti on background :) so I don't see the reason for that..

The call went ok, but after that the phone locked up and I could no longer open any program, neither restore PIE to close it, neither open task manager.... only the home button worked, and after a while it simply froze.....

So I held the power button, and after 2 minutes it shut down...... whew .....

Is that odd behavior a side effect of being connected thru activesync??

That is not exactly what I call "stability"......

WMP does not support URL streaming on smartphones.

well then what's its use (of wmp) besides eating up 10x memory?

can TCPMP do that?

i read reviews of those listening to shoutcast radio stations via wifi connection ......

its because they dont make specific version of WMP for different platforms but rather a generic version for both smartphone and PPC

One question - where will these wishes go? Will anybody directly related to HTC ROM development actually read them?

I don't think so :)

May be some user has got someone influential at HTC, or imate, or qtek, or orange, etc .....

I-mate has even got a "known bugs" section for every phone, but I don't know if they would add our newly discovered bug to the list...
