Vibrate on receipt of text message

Hi All

I am back using the K-Jam on a regular basis now, but am missing text messages as there does not appear to be a vibrate/sound when it comes in...could someone point me in the right direction please...

...also, when the call/text arrives, can you prevent the device from unlocking itself...buttons then get pushed etc...

Cheers

I'm guessing you already know about System - Sounds and Notifications and setting the tone and/or vibrate you want.

Does it just not do anything when you get a message?

My M500 did that a while back, but off the top of my head I can't remember what fixed it. I think it was a Hard Reset - isn't it always?

I think all Windows PPCs wake up when receiving a message/call. Screen Guard was my preferred "locker" to stop my dialing 0898 numbers by accident. There is a WM5 due out, but not for another month or so last I looked.

PicturePassword was what I used before, but I found that after an incoming call it would always prompt you for the 4 digit code to unlock again. Defeated the idea of a one-touch unlock.

...yeah...know about system sounds etc, but what exactly do you check on the first page of that? I don't want any other screen clicks etc...

I saw your thread for the M500, but don't really want to do a hard reset yet...

Also, I am fairly sure this worked before and it has just changed...but don't know what I did...

Thanks in advance for your help...

Cheers

Mine (a WM5 Prophet, I dont know whats on the K-Jam but I think it's almost identical) is setup like this:

On the first page ("Sounds"):

Events = Off

Programs = On

Notifications = On

Screen taps = Off

Hardware buttons = Off

On the second page ("Notifications"):

Event: Messaging, New Text message

Play sound = On (tone selected)

Repeat (not available for some reason)

Display message on screen = Off

Flash light = Off

Vibrate = On

In Settings - Phone I have:

Ring type = Vibrate and Ring

Ring tones = my tone

Keypad = Short tones (This is what you turn off to stop beeps in PhonePad)

HTH, but I'm not sure it will!
