Hello

I was thinking to get a C600 and i would like to know if any of you knows if

1. - http connections can be created from java midlet to an internet host

2. - if TCP connections or UDP traffic can run between 2 java midlets running on C600

Please be sure its 100% posible

If you would like to help me with the test for 1. you can download and run a browser from

http://midlet.org/category.jsp?parentLevel=224

WebViewer 3.2 looks ok.

For 2. you can test by using midlets from

http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.nokia.c...v1_0_1.zip.html

The compiled versions are in

\midp2_0\midlet\TCPEchoServerMIDlet

\midp2_0\midlet\TCPMIDlet

THey work in simulator.

Please modify a line in \midp2_0\midlet\TCPMIDlet\TCPMIDlet.jad

so that destination is localhost like below

Socket-URL: socket://localhost:6006

If someone is trying please let me know

Thx

Mihai

Well, I can give you my opinion on this, late I know, ...

I do not like Java, I find it too sluggish.

And I don't like to load s/w that I do not need. Just for fun? Nah!

What phones do you know that runs your java applets Ok or Excellent?

Buy that one! :) Simple.

Google Earth java client works, and it makes http connections.
