Guest Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 I'd say that Calender/sync to Outlook is probably the thing I use the most, and also the reason I went back to WM2003 from WM5.
Guest Disco Stu Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 Papyrus+Facade is ideal for me. Pete; why do you suggest you couldn't sync Outlook with a WM05 device ?

Guest nickcornaglia Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 I used to be a PowerCalendar fan. I still think it looks better. But I have been converted to Papyrus for it's added functionality. Facade is a bonus that works with any app...but still a necessity on the homescreen. The best homescreen plugin ever.
Guest Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 Pete; why do you suggest you couldn't sync Outlook with a WM05 device ? Using the Qtek 8300, it took an age for the computer to realise it had a device connected then start syncing, whereas with the SP3 it was much faster. Then it took a lot longer to do the sync. Also, using the SP3 it only re-synced when you changed something on the computer or the phone. On the 8300, it would re-sync every few minutes whether anything had changed or not, and also seemed to really slow the computer down when the phone was connected. In this respect, I would be syncing less often as it was such a pain, but now I'm back to the SP3, it works as I need it to. Hope this makes sense. Pete.
Guest SinisterJunkie Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 Papyrus & Facade without a doubt!
Guest roma0803 Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 Papyrus (and Facade) all the way!
Guest shadamehr Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 Tried the Beta version of Facade FOUR seperate distinct occasions, on my I-mate sp5. On EVERY occasion, Facade workedfine on install, then on next reboot of the phone, had lost its screen functionality (i.e calendars and stuff all blank). I never did get to the bottom of why or what cuased this. But Papyrus? Man, that's something else - it's what Pocket Outlook should have been!
Guest roma0803 Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 Might want to try it again. They just released version 1.0. Looks goooood.
Guest moonshot Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 I`m supprised at the low amount of votes so far........maybe there are not so many calendar users about! Having tried the free trial downloads, my vote goes to Power Calendar.
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 Good choice - DeveloperOne are first class....er.....developers with excellent support. Their CodeWalletPro is a favourite of mine. ;) Generally I don't think that the Calendar / Tasks function is all that important to non-business users and Pocket Outlook is pretty good for most people anyway. Although I'm not a 'power user' myself I do like Facade putting my agenda on the homescreen.
Guest moonshot Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 Good choice - DeveloperOne are first class....er.....developers with excellent support. Yes I agree. I e-mailed both with the same question. Developer One answered the question is some detail, Papyrus told me to suck it and see.
Guest BeerLover Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 Oxsis Task. Cant get over how amazing it is to have your task list on the home screen.
Guest chasdl Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 Papyrus+Facade is ideal for me. Pete; why do you suggest you couldn't sync Outlook with a WM05 device ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi Disco... Can you give me some idaa of why Papyrus is better than Outlook and Pocket Outlook? Also, does Papyrus on a smartphone synch with Outlook on the PC? Thanks...
Guest nickcornaglia Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 Papyrus, PowerCalendar and the built in calander all use the same data. Since the data is what's sync'd with Outlook, they in turn all sync with Outlook. It's all about how the data is presented on the phone. On a Smartphone, the built in calendar is very basic but does the job for me. Papyrus adds extra views, like a detailed week view, for example. It's all a matter of preference and how much each user needs. Give them all a try and see which you like best.
Guest conan_troutman Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 sorry but developer one are rip merchants I sent them an emailing asking if powercalendar and power tasks need to be both purchased for both applets to function the reply was in the affirmative 3 days later i dicover taks is built into calendar meaning I spent un neccaseery money. also the last email I sent asking if a minthly view would be added to the next up date was sent the reply of " sorry but due to the release of WM5 powercalendar and pwertasks will not be recieving any more updates for W2002/2003 devices thank you for you custom" rip off merchants i tell thee i now use oxios todo and papyrus I only wish papyrus made a weekly view more like the built in pocket outlook i love thet veiw.
