Pocket MSN notifications

I have enabled pocket msn on my MDA Vario to automatically download my hotmail when I am signed in, this is working fine.

The problem I'm having is that when a new message is automatically downloaded there is no audible notification only a visual one on the today screen. I have enabled the New Email Message notification which works for my other POP3 account and when I manually send/receive my hotmail account, but not when it downloads automatically.
