Guest exosceleton Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 the calendar moth view shows a square on each day between the 7th and last day of feb and march. when i select a day, the view changes to the list view, and shows no appointment, which is correct, i've made no such appointment. day and week view dont show any appointments either, only on the month view. it even remains trough a backup, hard reset and restore. normal appointments (ones i have made) show normal in the month view. can anyone suggest a fix, i dont want to wait untill march is over?
Guest Pondrew Posted February 21, 2006 Report Posted February 21, 2006 There shouldn't be anything in the calender at all after a hardreset until you sync the info in Outlook across. You sure there's not something in Outlook syncing across and so showing up?
Guest exosceleton Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 it even remains trough a backup, hard reset and restore. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i agree that there is someting wrong in the data, alltough im not using outlook but xbackup, but still i find it very strange that different views will display different information. Surely the different views retrieve information from the same data source
Guest fraser Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 Surely the different views retrieve information from the same data source <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not always. Sometimes you keep extra db data to present the info quickly; i.e. a summary of it. So there might be a db table "monthly" in there that is corrupt, while the actual appointments are OK. Polling the monthly table is quicker than scanning all appointments for ones that occur this month etc. This is guesswork, but it's a common db technique. You might be able to find a Outlook fixer/rebuilder to sort this corruption. Or perhaps outlook on the PC might be better at hunting down the cause. You can view all appointments as a list, that may help you.
