Please Help,

I have the BT-GPS paired with my c600 but TomTom will not see the device. I have tried to set the c600 com ports but the manual does not give any clear instructions on this. Can anyone please assist.

Have you tried this: http://www.modaco.com/How_to_TomTom_with_N...PS-t237142.html

Although it talks about the i-Blue, it should work with any generic bluetooth GPS.

i had a simular problem with my c500. heres what i did:

delete the gps device from the bluetooth settings. bluetooth should be on 'discoverable'.

go to start > configurations > bt serialportsetup

tick inbound and outbound. choose done and it will tell you to pair the device. so pair the device with the phone and then start up tomtom. on my tomtom it says 'no valid gps' or something at the start. it takes about 20 seconds or so to kick in and work. let me know how you get on.

Ok still not working, pairs fine with my PDA my computer and laptop, but just not with my SPV. I have had a similar problem with my headset on my PC and a reinstall of my bluetooth drivers sorted it, does the SPV hold anything in the registry? or is there ay way of resetting the bluetooth driver?

SPV finds the gps fine, but gives the error "SPV Failed to connect to BT_GPS, passkey incorrect or connection failed." maby not exact but u get the jist!

any suggestions? (also anyone got a working reg editor for the latest version of the C600???)

Cheers

it asks you to pair the device in tomtom? is the device on before you start up tomtom? i turn the gps reciever on then start tomtom. it says no gps to start with, then says gps signal lost 10, 20 secs ago. after about 20 seconds it connects and away i go. hope this helps a bit. post back on how you get on.

im glad it worked for you :)

what "other" gps reciever do you have dazzler? i seem to have probs with mine. it doesnt even charge up anymore. i have to have it plugged into the cig lighter for it to work. i noticed that 1 of the 3 pins that connect the battery may be bent (1 pin looks different to the other 2).

The new tom tom doesn't seem to see the gps. I had to set Bluetooth to discover and search several times for it. Then my phone didn't see it until I switched it on & off several times. This was with my old c600. I have just got a replacement c600 yesterday as mine went faulty and this one won't even run the software. I am pi**ed off as I can't get my old phone back as I would have had it repaired.

Installed Tomtom Mobile 5?

Installed the 5.20 Update?

Paired GPS Reciever?

Got Into Tomtom but cannot see GPS device...

also have you got ur phone unlocked? if not u need to go to the orange SPV Developers site and get that done first.

Let Me Know Init!

hi, i installed ttn6 onto my spv c550, and i can open it up but cant get the gps device to link up , the phone sees it but not tomt tom, have yet to get ttm5 working on it as i always get stuck at the map activate screen. i asume ttm 5.20 is the right software for this phone, if i manage to use install 5.2 and get past the map screen does it still have this problem with finding the gps, i have the bt77, have been reading posts about needing to change registrys tp get it working. could u give me some pointers. thx

Why do you get stuck at the map activation screen? All you need to do is enter your 15 digit code that came with the software and it should go on through and find the device.

@Simon11 - just app unlock your device and it should install fine.

Have you connected the com port? in com ports setup under the bluetooth option?

also make sure that the reciever is called "Other BT GPS", this worked for me (on a C600)

i recieved my replacement gps unit about a week ago and it works fine. im pretty sure it was the pins on the unit that connect that battery. on my old unit one of the pins looked bent and it must have been the reason that it wouldnt charge up!

the only strange thing is that the car charger that came with my gps unit has the same connector that my c500 takes, yet when i plug the phone into the car charger it doesnt charge up! isnt this a little strange?
