Guest TigerNet Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 ...right, got this working now...tunes piped through to my bluetooth headset!!! No registry hacks required...quality seems fine, but not tried it in stereo yet... Cheers Nick
Guest Jamma14 Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 Nick, hate to tell you if you've just purchased this, but isn't it just a rip off of the freeware Bluetunes?? James
Guest TigerNet Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 ...maybe, but it works 'out of the box' with no reg edits etc...works for me... Cheers Nick
Guest mini_man Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 so does bluetunes :|, all you do is enable it on your phone and then click connect on your headset and everything gets transfered to your headset. the screenshots look nearly the same sorry
Guest SimpleSmartphone Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Actually this is not the same thing as BlueTunes. BlueTunes is hack and takes advantage of killing the CDial.exe process which may have undesirable results. It essentially tricks your phone into thinking it is in a call. BlueTunes also does not work with Windows Mobile 5.0 because Microsoft fixed it so people just can't kill CDial.exe anymore. BlueCast works by turning on the Audio Gateway to the phone using some low level APIs. The Audio Gateway control is intended to be used this way. Anyone experiencing my pain would understand why BlueCast was developed SimpleSmartphone.com Download BlueCast Here
Guest mini_man Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Oh i hadnt realised Bluetunes didnt run on WM5. Ok then its a handly little app then if you happen to run WM5. But Bluetunes works beautifully and nothing has ever gone wrong which may have undesirable results. ??? What do you mean by undesirable results? Theres never been a problem with my mobile? and Bluetunes.

Guest SimpleSmartphone Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 I wanted to mention that today I did my first day of real business travel with BlueCast and it was so nice not to deal with my normal headphones. Tossing the headphone in the x-ray bin was easy. I could hear other people if I wanted to without holding on to one ear bud or letting it dangle at my side. FYI, I have a few tweaks in store for BlueCast so keep your eyes out for a new minor release. It will of course be free to current paid customers. I also hope to develop a plug-in for the homescreen. Does anyone have any interest in that? SimpleSmartphone.com
Guest mini_man Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 what kind of plugins did you have in mind?
Guest ScottC Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 I'd love to install this... but there is no way I'll give up 6Mb just for the .net framework 2.0...
Guest TigerNet Posted March 3, 2006 Report Posted March 3, 2006 ...I put it on the storage card on my K-Jam...don't have enough space to pass it through to the card on the SP5m though...any ideas to trick it? Cheers Nick

Would it be possible to have an option that turned Bluecast on when you get a call so it can pass the ringtone through and then turn off when the headset is disconnected. I am on a WM5 PPC-6700 and would like to have the ringtone pass through without the constant BT connection. Thanks, Bob

As soon as Bluecast is activated, for some reason, it sets off the voice dial function of the handset. and then goes in to a continuous loop. If anyone has a work around (reg hack) then I would be extremely grateful ;)

SimpleSmartphone.com <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi SmartPhone, This looks like a wonderful app, and one that I've been trying to find for my new Cingular 2125 with WM 5.0. The inability to play music through my BT headset has been a real pain, and I'm very happy to find this. Thanks for implementing it... But can you address some of the objections raised? For example, does MS .Net 2.0 really take up several megabytes? Is it necessary, and if so, can it be installed on the SD card? (Unfortunately, my IPSM folder is almost full now; it wouldn't allow me to install .Net if it's that large and has to go on the phone.) Thanks, and all the best....

And can it be uninstalled if necessary? Best...
Guest sx125 Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 This app is so great! It really rocks I can drive my car and listen radio with my car radio, but when TT says something it goes trough the carspeakers, and the music stops for some seconds. This is really tricky! I love the app
Guest b1zn4tch Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 how do i get this to work on my smt5600? i want better sound quality then bluetunes.
Guest phatphat Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 Does bluecast work on the Orange M500 (if you install the .net framework).? Anyone tried?
Guest Looby Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 Hi Abhayseth, Can .NET 2.0 be installed on the SD card? And can it be uninstalled if necessary? Best... You can install and un-install NET 2.0 on to your SD card but it automatically covers your main memory in your phone and leaves you with about 1.6mb on your main storage so you cannot send/receive any MMS messages. I have not tried it with the latest ROM update which is supposed to be able to operate with 1mb. :)
